Rainy Days and Mondays Always Get Me Down
Letterpress Mini-Poster

This 1971 classic made famous by The Carpenters (and later covered by one of our favorites, Olivia Newton-John) was written by and composed by Roger Nichols and Paul Williams.

These are part of Sarah Utter's recent work at Olympia Community Print, where she explored the lyrics that influenced her growing up.

Each print is slightly different, and the color of the inks changed with each one.

Smudging and inconsistency are part of the process, and give them a rich character. Hand inked and letter-pressed on an antique "Vandercook 14" proofing press using soy-oil based inks.

These look great put in a simple frame. Ships wrapped in cellophane and backed by a reclaimed album cover.

Size: 8.5" x 11"

About Olympia Community Print

Community Print is an Olympia based artist's collective comprised of printers, writers, and rabble rousers of all visual persuasions. They work to facilitate creative expression and cultural disturbance by sharing access to resources and building a community of artists. Their space is meant as a tool for the creation and distribution of independently published media and art.

All volunteer, they provide workshops and volunteer run studio hours as well as resources and information on the printing arts.

Their goal is to encourage growth and change in the world by providing a space for ideas to come together and tools to cultivate meaningful work.
