Alex Boersma is a Canadian scientific illustrator and picture book author/illustrator.

She works with scientists, museums, and publishers to create illustrations that engage the public in scientific ideas and celebrate the natural world.

This piece originally appeared in the picture book The Whale Who Swam Through Time, published in 2022 by Roaring Brook Press.
