Summer Guitars No. 1
Photo Zine

Tae Won Yu has put together the first in a series of his “Summer Guitars” zine.

Collected from his extensive photo archives, here are never-before-seen images documenting the secret history of the influential Olympia scene of the 1990’s. Featuring punk rock luminaries (like Beth Ditto and Kathleen Hanna), basement shows, and the styles and faces of scenesters, Summer Guitars No.1 is a photographic exploration of the 90’s underground only the cool kids knew about (if you know, you know).

This issue of Summer Guitars was produced for Kicking Giant’s East Coast Tour with Built To Spill in 2024 and was only available at the shows where it quickly sold out.

We are proud to make available a 2nd printing of this must-have document of this overlooked DIY scene.
